What Are Pilot School Missions And Where to Find Them
The Pilot School missions help you to improve your flying skill with all airborne vehicles across San Andreas. This becomes particularly useful as you get towards late-game missions and side missions that rely more heavily on piloting different vehicles. The Pilot School Mission chain will unlock after you have completed the quest "Verdant Meadows" given by Mike Toreno, during which you will be required to purchase an airstrip for $80,000. The Pilot School unlocks immediately afterward.
To start the Pilot School missions, climb the stairs to the control tower and you'll get a call from Toreno. After the call ends, stand in the red marker in front of the T.V. to start the mission.
There are 10 Pilot School tests in total.
Takeoff Test
All you need to do is accelerate and take off, then guide your Rustler plane through 3 rings and that's it! Keep the accelerator going and gently veer the nose of your plane up or down to hit each ring. Not letting off the accelerator guarantees the Gold medal.
Land Plane Test

You will immediately spawn in the air heading towards a ring. Veer down gently and pass through the ring, holding the brakes as you do so. Ensure your landing gear deploys beneath you! Touchdown then coast along the runway into the red ring at the end and you'll grab your Gold medal.
Circle Airstrip Test
This is where the controls can begin to get finicky. You must takeoff, pass through the first red ring then begin banking to end up looping around the airstrip, as the title of the mission suggests. You may feel inclined to hold the accelerator down and make harsh directional inputs - resist that urge. Slow off accelerating on turns and slowly start changing directions to ensure you don't spiral out of control. After completing a loop of the runway, the Gold should be yours.
Circle and Land Test
The exact same procedure as the last mission, but with the added requirement of landing again on the runway within the red ring. Be gentle on your touchdown, hold down the brake, and angle upwards to prevent damage to the nose of the plane. Be sure to point directly East upon landing to ensure you get the Gold.

Helicopter Takeoff Test
Accelerate to raise the Hunter helicopter up in the air, and whilst doing so, rotate the helicopter 180 degrees and a red ring will appear. Guide the helicopter through the red ring and the Gold is yours.
Land Helicopter Test
You'll begin in the air and are required to head towards the runway and a red ring will appear. Slowly descend and land in the red ring facing East to get the Gold medal.
Destroy Targets Test
One of the trickier missions in the whole group. Angle your helicopter forwards and continually fire your missiles as you fly by the end of the runway. You will need to take out the three Linerunner vehicles. If you miss any, rotate around, lower down to the floor and use your miniguns. Immediately fly back towards the end of the runway you started from, and there will be two Landstalker vehicles to destroy. These will be on the move, so be careful! Miniguns are the safer bet, but if you're a good shot missiles can be used from a distance. With all those threats taken care of, return to the runway and gentle descend and land within the red ring to get the Gold.

Loop-the-Loop Test
You'll spawn in the air in a Stuntplane, coasting towards a red ring. After passing through, you'll need to get ready to pull sharply up into the air. Follow the on-screen commands for this one, it tells you all you need. Before hitting the second ring, pull up and you'll do a loop to pass through the second ring and get your Gold medal.
Barrel Roll Test
Spawning in the air, maintain height (potentially even gain a little if your flying skills are shaky) as you head towards the first red ring. Once through the red ring, steer firmly either left or right to barrel roll. You're more than likely to lose altitude doing so, potentially even spiraling a little, so be prepared to pull up and level yourself out to pass through the second red ring and get the Gold medal.

Parachute Onto Target Test
Spawning in the air, you'll want to dive forward until you are prompted to open the parachute. Once it's been deployed, steer yourself towards the red ring on the runway, pulling back to raise your legs and slow your descent to gain the last bit of distance required to reach it. Land in the center of the ring to receive your final Gold medal.
After completing Pilot School, you'll get a call from Woozie and have the next story mission available in Las Venturas.
